Founder of Shakti Yoga
I discovered Yoga in 2005 while living in my hometown, Maracaibo, Venezuela. I came to yoga as most beginners do: with little knowledge, a simple need to get back in to my body, and a desire to find a way to find balance from the stressful life of studying western medicine. I had no idea that yoga would become a lifelong journey of self-discovery and healing.
I studied four years of Western medicine from 2001-2005. I transitioned from studying western medicine to studying yoga and healing arts in the Bay area. I became a certified Yoga instructor and completed the Master level of Reiki in 2007.
I have studied different meditation techniques, Theta Healing™ and Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle. My studies in Yoga are based in traditional and therapeutic approach, including the following: Sivananda, Prenatal & Post Natal Yoga, Yoga for Scoliosis, and Adaptive Yoga therapy for Cancer & Chronic Illnesses. My current Yoga practice and inspiration comes from the teachings of Shadow Yoga, Restorative, Deep Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and Adaptive Therapeutic Yoga.
When working together, I integrate the wisdom from all of the traditions that have inspired me, along with my love for nature, sound healing, and guided imagery. My intention is to create an environment that incorporates what may be most suitable for the capacities and goals of an individual or a group.
